Welcome to Barcelona!

To get to Figueres, the nearest nearby town to the wedding venue, it is recommended you fly directly to Barcelona (Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport), as it is the gateway to the Costa Brava region.

If you fly to Madrid, you will need to take a flight, a train or drive to Barcelona and then Costa Brava.

Once in Barcelona, you can take a high speed train (AVE) to Figueres Vilafant from Barcelona Sants, which is about an hour

Note that transportation will be provided to take you to the different wedding venues from Figueres. More details on meeting points will be provided soon.

Drive

Buses are also available to Figueres. Another good option to consider is renting a car, which requires an international drivers permit (this should be easy to obtain from your home country). Activities in the area

For the art lovers

Beyond its breathtaking landscapes, Costa Brava is a place where dreams and reality blur together. It was here that Salvador Dali, one of the most singular artistic minds of the 20th century, cultivated his creative universe and where his dear wife, Gala, built her own. This region is home to the famous Dalí Triangle, which connects the towns of Púbol, Portlligat, and Figueres—three places that trace the life and work of an artist of international renown, yet deeply rooted in his homeland.

To explore Dalí’s world, were recommended these must-sees:

We highly recommended purchasing tickets ahead of time given that August is a peak season for this region.

  1. Teatro-Museo Dalí – Figueres (Alt Emporda)

The Dalí Theatre and Museum is a museum dedicated to Salvador Dalí in his home town of Figueres, in Catalonia. The artist lived there from 1984 to 1989, and is buried in a crypt below the stage.

  1. Casa Salvador Dalí – Portlligat (Alt Emporda)

Originally drawn by the landscape, light and isolation of the place, Dalí made Portlligat his home and studio for over 40 years.

  1. Castillo Gala Dalí – Púbol (Baix Emporda)

It’s difficult to understand Dalí without understanding his wife Gala. This gothic castle, a gift from Dalí, became her personal refuge and a space that reflects their complex relationship. Dali would not visit it without formal written invitation from her.

Also near the castle, you can find the studio of ceramist Caterina Roma.
